The sun gently filters through the pines…you take time to enjoy your breakfast facing the sea. Today you’re headed for the Costa Verde mountains, to discover a village packed with history and charm.
Within a few minutes, you hit the road winding through the scrubland, your destination Cervione. The car climbs ever higher, and already the view over the eastern coast opens up behind you…

You arrive in Cervione, perched on the mountainside. Here cobbled streets entice you for a stroll. You leave the car just outside the village, and head off on foot to explore this picturesque maze.
Houses with colourful facades, stone staircases, small quaint shaded squares…everything oozes authenticity! The children run on ahead, intrigued to discover what hides behind every alleyway.

At a bend in the road, you discover the impressive Sant’Erasmu cathedral, known as Saint Erasme in French and Saint Erasmus in English), a genuine symbol of the village. The baroque architecture and amazing dimensions are in stark contrast to the size of the village.
Inside, the peace is striking. You take a moment to admire the frescoes, sculpted details and the peaceful atmosphere of your surroundings. A timeless interlude!
Just a stone’s throw away, in the heart of the village of Cervione, the ADECEC museum of Corsican arts and traditions extends your immersion here. In the immediate vicinity of the cathedral, it highlights Corsican traditions and heritage through a rich collection of historical artefacts, evidence of everyday life in times gone by. A discreet yet fascinating visit, enriching your experience of the place even further.

Continuing your walk, you reach a breathtaking viewpoint. Facing you, the Tyrrhenian Sea extends as far as the eye can see. Below stretches the Eastern Plain, wetlands and long sandy beaches… You contemplate this landscape for a few moments. There is a striking contrast between the mountains and the sea. One of those simple, precious moments which you won’t forget…

in the heart of the village
Time to sit down in the shade of a terrace. You pick a small restaurant in a lively square. On the menu, Corsican specialities and local produce and ingredients… Also, if you’re there in August, you can’t miss the renowned Festa di a Nuciola (hazelnut fair). The village comes to life, the number of stands increases, the scent of traditional produce pervades the streets…a warm, festive atmosphere!

After this gourmet interlude, you get back in the car for a few minutes heading for the nearby valley. A change of surroundings… You park nearby and walk to the Cascade de l’Ucelluline waterfall. The trail is short but easily accessible, perfect for a family trip.

The waterfall suddenly appears, between the rocks and greenery. The water falls gently into a natural pool. This is a shaded, relaxing spot… The children don’t resist it for long and come closer to dip their feet in! You make the most of the coolness, the sound of the water, this timeless moment in the heart of nature!

After this cooling interlude, you calmly get back on the road towards the campsite, your head full of memories. The sun gradually goes down, the landscape takes on golden hues… Back at Domaine de Bagheera, one last swim in the sea perfects your day in the mountains, the village and nature. A great way to discover another side of Corsica…
